The Month of the Macaque is an intervention in public space, the Rapoldipark in Innsbruck. Centered around a specially crafted bathhouse with woodstove to heat the water to 40°C, bathers find themselves coexisting with unseen creatures, captured by video traps surrounding the area. while sitting in the hot-tub. The result is an alluring 44,460-minute video projection (the whole onth of october) on the bathhouse—a unique exploration of human and non-human interaction. By introducing video-recording, open fire and nakedness in the park it is challenging perceptions of public spaces.
